Well, the "conversion" was really just swapping out the wheels. Turns out, although there were 10" wheels on there, that was the extent of the conversion. The gears and brakes are/were still set up for 8". I like the look of the 8" wheels on there better than the 10", and I don't ride it all that far in one go - although I'd like to. I've had reliability issues with it in past months, so I've been hesitant to ride is anywhere near as far as the 10-12 mi to my work.

Stock 150cc motor in it, although I'm thinking of picking up a 150 Bajaj motor with 177 kit on it. Not sure if that will make a whole lot of diff or not.

hey - does it mean it has a px engine inside?
why go back to 8"? I understand getting it back to original conditions, but it mostly depends on what kind of usage you're gonna do of it - specifically, if you'd have to use it for long trips, 8" is not great, is it?

enjoy, a.

Hi,

I have a restored 64 vbb that is suffering from seriously blackened plugs. Any advice? I'm not even sure I have the right plugs though (although the spares came with it) and can't seem to get any info from the www

ugh! i just got word that my 1964 vespa VBB (which i bought off ebay) has arrived in my city and i have no way to get it home! i called my local "scooter guy" who has the main shop in town to seek help - seeing as how i purchased the scooter without knowing anything about it, like you- and he let me know in no uncertain terms that i am a complete idiot for buying this bike.
i know it's not gonna run like a new one - i know its going to be trouble. i kinda like trouble. i am excited about this adventure - and he's raining on my parade.
so i'm glad to have come across this blog and i'm hoping maybe just maybe you can be a bit of help! :)

You know, I don't know where that comes from. I learned that word from the British Haynes manuals, I think. I grew up working on cars, and although I'm not a Brit, the Haynes manuals were what I had, so I picked up a lot of terminology from there.
